By Changing Nothing, Nothing Changes...

Have you ever promised someone that you would never change in your life, that you would stay the same no matter what happens? Have you ever wished someone to stay the same and not to change for anyone else? Have you ever wonder why people change all of sudden and act like they are no more the person you once know? If yes, this is for you…

We all think that changing is something forbidden, changing is something that we are not supposed to do. When we meet someone after years or months, and when they say ‘OMG, you have not even changed a bit, you are still the same person’, we consider it as a compliment. But it isn’t. And when they say, ‘OMG, you are so much changed, I don’t even recognize who you are’, the next second we defend ourselves like ‘oh no, I haven’t changed, maybe we haven’t seen for so long, so you would have forgotten’. But is that how we should be? Should we always deny who we are?

We all wish to remain the same; we all wish our life to remain the same as it was when we were kids, no worries, no pains, no sufferings, no regrets, and most of all no problems to deal with…happy time, wasn’t it? But life doesn’t remain the same, it never does. Sometimes life becomes the worst teacher and teaches us the hardest lesson and we would be left with no other choice but to accept it and change ourselves. We are not the same person we were last year, we are not the same person we were yesterday, we change with time, situation, and circumstances. We change when we meet new people, when we go through a tough phase in life, when we take stupid decision and regret it later, when we make a huge mistake and realize it too late. Changing simply means we are evolving from what we were yesterday to what we are going to be tomorrow. Every next level of your life demands a different version of you. Changing is a good thing. Change for better, that is all that matters.

So the next time when someone says that you haven’t changed, let them know that you have changed to be a better person than you once were. The next time when you promise someone, promise them that you would always change in a better way. The next time when you see someone and realize that they have changed, don’t complain about it, understand that they might have gone through something, and accept them for who they are now. Just because we are someone else in the past doesn’t mean we should be the same person in the future too. Like they say, let the change start with us, let acceptance starts with us too…
